Higher Perspective & A Course in Miracles

The start of a new year offers opportunities to approach life a bit differently. With encouragement from the daily Workbook lessons in A Course in Miracles, my attention is often on the Holy Spirit. I know that term can be loaded for people, but this higher self (clearer self) really does help me have more peace by looking at things “through the eyes of the Holy Spirit.” What that means is that no matter my thoughts or emotions about something, I can take a moment to get still, to linger just a bit as I look into the situation, and then to respond only with love.

I’m used to looking at whatever I deem positive as “good” (and to enjoy or be happy about it), but things I deem not so positive (challenging, painful, etc.) are unacceptable somehow. Yet it’s always a judgment call. Whether something’s good, bad or indifferent, the teachings from ACIM help me to see with the vision of my higher self, my Holy Spirit, and regardless, to extend love.

Sometimes that happens quickly and other times not, but from this higher perspective, peace joins with me and invites more of the same.
