During an Akashic Record reading with a lovely woman, the phrase “ring pass not” came up in our conversation with her Masters, Teachers and Loved Ones. It’s a term I’ve heard before but didn’t really understand, so naturally I went searching for its meaning.
At the Theosophical Society I found this definition: “A profoundly mystical and suggestive term signifying the circle or bounds or frontiers within which is contained the consciousness of those who are still under the sway of the delusion of separateness…A general ring-pass-not for humanity is their inability to self-consciously participate in spiritual self-consciousness.”
I also found an astrological context for the term in regards to the ring around the planet Saturn and a metaphorical explanation for its existence. Dawn Muncaster wrote:
And it is there to make sure we don’t get too carried away with ourselves.. meaning we need a check up every so often, to see how we are doing. And often Saturn’s transits through the Zodiac signs is not too much fun, as he demands we clear away any mess we have made, our negative Karma, and create positive Karma for our future.
You see, the soul has to pass certain initiatory tests…
And you can’t get past the rings until you satisfy Saturn by surrendering your ego to the soul’s higher destiny. Saturn wants you to take responsibility for your actions, forgive others, forgive yourself, and help others climb to the mountain top!
During her session, my client repeatedly voiced the desire for her life to change. Yet the message from the reading was that it won’t be some grand gesture that creates that change, but rather, her focused attention to doing the “little things” in her relationships and personal encounters to bring her closer to connection…through compassion and forgiveness.
Our personal rings pass not may seem formidable, even impenetrable…but when the time comes to move past them, we will. Until then, reflect on the beauty of what is.
