Hand Trembling During Healings

While at the TV studio where I tape my show, a woman who has her own program but has been watching mine, asked me about the hand trembling that occurs while I channel. I explained to her that it’s the same thing that happens when I’m doing Reconnective Healing, and that I don’t know exactly why it occurs or what the significance is.

I haven’t seen others who have this reaction when doing Reconnective Healing, but one of the organization’s teaching assistants told me I’m certainly not the only one. When this first began moving through me in this way, before I ever attended a Reconnective Healing seminar (but after I’d received a healing and after I’d read Dr. Pearl’s book), I didn’t think much of it. Yes, I was amazed by what was happening, especially in the beginning when it was so fast and furious, but I assumed everyone trembled in the same way when engaged with the healing frequencies. It was only when I attended an annual conference and got to work on horses with other Reconnective Healers, that I realized I did the work differently than most (not that I’m actually doing anything–it’s just how it responds in me).

Recently I was giving a public channeling and afterwards, a woman in the audience asked me if I knew about Navajo hand tremblers. She went on to tell me that she had been invited to attend a special healing ceremony where she witnessed this phenomenon and that it looked exactly like what was happening while I channeled.

The way I’ve seen this described on the internet is a “person, while in a trance-like state, whose hand trembles and hits the floor while performing a looking within themselves for answers to outside events or situations.” Further, that same site says: “Hand tremblers derive their name from the hand motions they exhibit while involved in the seeing or healing chant. The hand motions can just be a trembling of the hand to a combination of trembling, striking, and marking of the ground during the chant.”

Now my hands don’t hit the floor, but then I’m usually sitting or standing when channeling or working with Reconnective Healing. But there’s no denying that sometimes my hands move very emphatically and when channeling, it seems that the words that come through are accentuated by the hand movements and sometimes my hands move directly at an individual being addressed by Sophia, which looks like a striking motion.

When this audience member told me about this Navajo tradition, it gave me a bit of comfort and made me feel that I’m not so odd or unusual. It also has me wondering about past lives, since I’ve read that we can draw upon any and all of our past life experiences to help us in this life. When I look in the mirror and see my face change, I often see what looks like me in the reflection, but with distinctly Native American features. Could this be verification of a past life? I don’t know for sure, but it leads me to believe it’s entirely possible.

What do you think?

  1. The trembling hands is what drew me to find out more about what you do. I was surfing the TV one night and saw the Sophia Wisdom show and your hands were trembling. I also have been shaking or trembling my hands like that for several months. Prior to that I had read the Eric Pearl book on Reconnective Healing and have felt energy in my hands. I think the trembling hands is a way to activate the healing energy when you or someone else needs it. Bob
